The OpenElect Optical Voting Interface (OVI-VC) is a multi-faceted and robust ADA voting device. It can accommodate non-geographical early voting, absentee walk-in voting and Election Day voting. 

Designed for Voters

The OVI-VC was developed to provide your voters, with varying physical capabilities, the ability to vote independently and privately at the polls. The OVI-VC complies with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) voting requirements. It assists voters in navigating the ballot via a touchscreen, keypad and /or a sip-and-puff device. It can also provide the voter with an audio presentation of the ballot. The OVI-VC can be set up to accommodate all languages supported by your jurisdiction on both the displayed and audio ballots. The ballot is extremely easy to navigate and the onscreen instructions provide easy-to-follow guidance. The OVI-VC reduces pre-printed ballot production and transportation costs by printing the voter’s selections on a paper ballot with just the push of a button. The ballot is then inserted in to the either the FreedomVote Scan (FVS) or the OpenElect Voting Optical scan (OVO) to be cast and tallied.

Designed for Election Workers

The Early Voting, Vote Center and Election Day poll worker will find that transporting and setting up the OVI-VC is a quick and simple process. The OVI-VC is a self-contained voting device with a simple start up and close out process. The OVI-VC enclosure contains a 15” display, an optional tethered keypad and a printer. Unisyn offers the option of adding a plug-and-play set of headphones and sip-and-puff device or other binary device to assist voters with their selections. Poll Workers will appreciate the ease of assisting voters with the OVI-VC.
